Standing Committee for Academic Plans and Programs

Introduction

In line with the university's vision and mission, and to fulfil the institutional accreditation requirements, The university president has issued a decree to establish the standing committee for Academic Plans and Programs. This committee is responsible for governing the process of approving the new and developed programs according to the Education and Training Evaluation Authority's standards, classifications of the National Qualifications Framework, the unified Saudi classification for educational levels and specializations. The committee aims to ensure the quality of the educational process and its outputs at the university.

1- Scrutinize all the applications submitted by the university sectors and the recommendations that arise from the relevant authorities regarding the approval or development of any of the academic programs at the university, including all degree levels (diplomas at various levels) - bachelor - master - doctorate, considering all learning styles (traditional, e-learning, hybrid learning, and distance learning)
2- Follow-up the action plans to update and develop academic programs and verify their conformance with the professional and specialized standards.
3- Consider proposals to create or cancel any scientific departments, academic programs or to restructure existing ones.
4- Examining the relevant matters to programs and study plans at the university level and recommending approval for both the University Councils and the Council of the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
5- Providing opinion and advice regarding raising the efficiency of the educational process and improving its outcomes.
6- Performing any other tasks referred to this committee in this regard.
